1. Organiser and period

The leaderboards are organised by CatchBuddies. Each competition period runs from the first through the final day of the calendar month in the UTC time zone, unless the app clearly states a different period.

2. Who can participate?

Participation is open to registered Hooked users who are legally permitted to enter a promotional competition under the laws of their country of residence. Minors require permission from a parent or legal guardian. Participants must be reachable through their Hooked account and able to receive any prize in a legally permitted way.

3. Valid entry

• The catch was caught by the participant and registered during the relevant month.
• The catch includes a clear, unique photo, the correct fish species and a reliable length or — for carp — weight.
• The catch was deliberately shared publicly and complies with the community rules.
• Only the participant’s highest-ranked valid catch per fish species counts.

No purchase, payment or paid subscription is required to participate.

4. Ranking and review

Carp are ranked by weight; the other categories are ranked by length. A top-three position remains provisional until the photo, measurement, date and any duplicate entry have been reviewed manually. If measurements are equal, the first fully submitted and approved record may take priority.

5. Rejection and exclusion

CatchBuddies may reject an entry because of unclear or manipulated photos, implausible data, an incorrect species, reuse of the same photo, deception, automated participation or a breach of law, fishing regulations or these terms. The user will be notified of a rejection through Hooked.

6. Winners and prizes

After the period ends, approved podium positions become final. The displayed prize, availability and any restrictions are stated in the app or on the leaderboard page. A prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash. If a displayed prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside CatchBuddies’ control, a reasonably equivalent alternative may be offered. A winner who does not respond to contact through Hooked within 14 days may lose the right to the prize.

7. Photos, privacy and conduct

The participant remains the owner of the photo. By sharing a catch publicly, the participant grants CatchBuddies permission to display that catch within Hooked and on the public CatchBuddies leaderboards. Exact catch locations remain hidden. Personal data is governed by the privacy policy.

8. Apple is not the organiser

Apple Inc. is not a sponsor, organiser or participant in these competitions and is not involved in their operation or in awarding prizes. Questions or claims about a leaderboard or prize must be submitted through CatchBuddies support, not to Apple.

9. Changes or termination

CatchBuddies may modify, suspend or terminate a competition when fraud, a technical failure, legal requirements or other circumstances make fair operation impossible. Existing valid entries will be handled as reasonably and transparently as possible.
